You are much braver than I am. Second, I am a lover of C.S. Lewis......my Mum "introduced me to him over 40 years ago.....and I have learned so much from this remarkable man. His reasoning behind pain, death, loss and faith is sound....but acceptance is sometimes hard..... but we keep on trying to learn and grow....and in the end, that's what it's all about....that and love.

Sending you love - as you take a much-deserved few days off!

Many hugs,

♥ Robin ♥Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15247046205493711677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8045558338047530867.post-13543579930836035462010-12-08T15:17:45.174+00:002010-12-08T15:17:45.174+00:00Jos, both these books sound very good. When I started my spiritual quest about 40 years ago I too had a lot of trouble with this one, but I have come to terms with this problem. Not everyone would agree with my idea that the pain is good and has a reason and therefore is not a problem to solve. God is all knowing and loving in that belief there would be nothing made that did not have a reason for being, we in our limited brains have a hard time understanding the whys. Lewis, but I ...I haven't read that book by C.S. Lewis, but I did put a quote on my blog today from it. It's on my TBR list. A bit of synchronicity, maybe?

Faith is a very personal thing. I went to Sunday School as a child and was lucky to attend many different faiths and learn much of the Bible. I loved them all, but I found that reading the Bible for myself enlightened me most of all. When my kids were small, I taught children's church and learned even more than the kids about God. And I still pray...and read books that help me on my spiritual path. One book that helped me a lot was "Codependency: Breaking Free from the Hurt and Manipulation of Dysfunctional Relationships" by Pat Springle and Susan Joiner. I grew up in a horribly codependent family of drunks and this book was freeing. I still drag out my old, battered copy and look up stuff in it. I also read many books for Adult Children of Alcoholics. Books are my teachers, friends, saviors at time.

You're doing great keeping up with your 30 days of truth.

Love & Blessings,

MarionMarionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14786883679294446945noreply@blogger.com
